Your Options from CDG to Paris
Depending on the time of day, your destination in Paris and the size of your party, the right transfer option varies significantly. Below is an honest breakdown of each.
RER B — The Budget Option
The RER B suburban train departs from CDG Terminals 1 and 2 and connects to Gare du Nord, Châtelet–Les Halles, Saint-Michel–Notre-Dame and Denfert-Rochereau. Journey time is approximately 35 minutes; the fare is around €12 per person.
The RER B is a practical choice if you are travelling light, during off-peak hours, to a destination near one of its stops. However, it has real limitations:
- Luggage must be carried up and down stairs — no lifts at many stations
- Trains are frequently crowded during peak hours
- Pickpocketing is common on this route
- Delays of 20–40 minutes are not unusual
- No door-to-door service — you still need a taxi from the final station
Bus Services — Le Bus Direct & Roissybus
Le Bus Direct serves several Paris locations including Arc de Triomphe, Gare de Lyon and Gare Montparnasse. Roissybus connects to Opéra. Tickets range from €17 to €22. Journey times vary between 45 and 75 minutes, entirely dependent on road traffic.
Buses are comfortable and affordable but offer no guarantee on timing — a significant problem if you have a connection, a meeting or a check-in deadline.
Metered Taxi
Paris introduced fixed-rate fares for CDG airport transfers in 2016. As of 2026, the official rates are €56 to the Right Bank and €65 to the Left Bank (supplements apply for extra luggage and night journeys). Taxis are widely available from the designated ranks outside each terminal.
The main drawbacks: queues can be long at peak times, vehicle standards vary considerably, and drivers are not required to speak English. You cannot know in advance which driver or vehicle you will receive.
VTC Apps (Uber, Bolt, etc.)
Rideshare apps offer convenience and upfront pricing but come with notable inconsistencies. Vehicle quality ranges from economy hatchbacks to premium sedans. During high-demand periods, surge pricing can make these options more expensive than a private transfer with fixed pricing. Driver availability at CDG can be unreliable during late-night arrivals.
Private Transfer — The Premium Choice
A dedicated private transfer service offers everything the above options lack: a confirmed vehicle, a named driver, flight tracking, meet & greet in the arrivals hall, fixed pricing and direct routing to your destination. For business travellers, families with luggage and anyone who values a reliable, dignified start to their time in Paris, it is the clear choice.
Why Private Transfer is the Smartest Choice from CDG
Flight Tracking — Your Driver Adjusts Automatically
Your ParisTransfer chauffeur monitors your flight in real time. Whether your flight lands 20 minutes early or is delayed by an hour, your driver is updated and waiting when you need them — not before, not after. You will never wait at the kerb wondering if your driver is stuck in traffic.
Meet & Greet in the Arrivals Hall
Your driver enters the terminal and waits at the arrivals gate with a namecard. There is no need to call, navigate to a pickup zone or drag luggage to a remote car park. They assist with your bags and escort you directly to the vehicle.
Fixed Price — Confirmed Before You Travel
Your transfer price is agreed and confirmed at the time of booking. There are no surprises at the end of the journey — no surge pricing, no supplement for traffic, no add-ons for luggage. What you see is what you pay.
Direct, Non-Stop to Your Destination
Your driver takes you directly to your hotel, apartment, office or event venue. No detours, no other passengers, no stops. The journey from CDG to central Paris takes between 35 and 55 minutes under normal traffic conditions.
