Mont-Saint-Michel.

Full Day · 4 hours from Paris

In short

The abbey rising out of its bay, reached in one continuous journey rather than three connections.

Mont-Saint-Michel is four hours west of Paris, which is exactly why it deserves a private car. There is no train that goes there, and the alternative is a long coach with a fixed departure. In your own vehicle the day starts when you decide, and the drive through Normandy becomes rest rather than transit.

We time the arrival around the tide. At high water the mount is ringed by the sea and the causeway view is at its most dramatic; at low water the bay opens into a vast expanse of sand that guided walks cross on foot. Tell us which you would rather see and we build the schedule backwards from it.

Inside, the climb through the village to the abbey is steep and worth every step. A licensed guide can meet you at the gates with priority access, and your chauffeur waits at the shuttle terminus for as long as you need, with the car kept cool and your belongings secure.
